July 4th Weekend Fun!

Brownfield Celebrates Centennial Birthday - The City of Brownfield held its Centennial Celebration on Monday, July 5 at Coleman Park. The celebration began at 5:45 p.m. and at 6, they held the parade around the park. Participants rode golf carts, bikes, walked, and cruised in their vehicles around the park for all to see.

BISD swears in Edgar Rivera to fill vacant seat

On Wednesday night, the Brownfield Board of Trustees met in a second special meeting to announce the appointment of Edgar Rivera to the Board of Trustees- At Large seat which was vacated when William Hawkins resigned. In the special meeting, Rivera was presented to the board and Tim Swaringen made the motion of approval with Cat Gonzalez seconding.

Brownfield City Council amends city budget

The Brownfield City Council met Thursday morning and the board received the 2019-2020 annual financial report from Bennett, Bennett & Trice LLC. The board also heard information regarding Resolution No. 20210701 from City Manager Jeff Davis, received an update from the director of streets and sanitation, approved the letter of engagement from Bolinger, Segars, Gilbert & Moss, and extended the disaster declaration.

Masked Rider

Masked Rider visits the Kendrick Memorial Library’s summer reading program at Coleman Park on Wednesday. Fearless Champion was suppose to visit but due to weather was unable to make the trip. The library hopes to schedule another visit so Fearless Champion can mee with the kids.
