Meadow opened its basketball camp Monday and ran through Thursday with first to sixth graders going from 10 a.m. till noon, and seventh to ninth graders going from 1-3 p.m. The camp had 61 totals kids show up to the camp. The campers learned the basics of dribbling, passing, shooting, and layups from Meadow head boys’ and girls’ coaches Brandon Flores and Nick Tarr, as well as their assistants.
Read moreBrownfield tennis camp began with the first through fifth graders participating from 9-11 a.m. and the sixth to ninth graders going from 1-3 p.m. The camp is a chance for the kids to learn the basics of the sport from head coach Rich Hammons and returning members of the District winning Cubs and Lady Cubs players. The kids learned how to control the ball with their rackets, how to stand hit the ball with a forearm, and the vocabulary of the sport.

The reading program, which is currently in its third week, meets every Wednesday at the Coleman Park Amphitheater at 10 a.m. Ms. Sarah Basquez the Children’s Program coordinator is one of the people in charge of the event. The reading program has seen an average of 91 kids from Brownfield, Meadow, and Wellman.
