Cub's football is around the corner

The Brownfield football 7 on 7 team ended the summer season with a strong showing at the Clyde SQT (State Qualifying Tournament). One of the team’s most notable wins came in the third game of the Clyde SQT when the Cubs beat the defending 4A state champions Stephenville, 35-31. With a showing like this with the team going an overall 16-4 and only losing in the SQT’s there is a lot of hype moving around the Brownfield Football program.

Lonestar Cajun Seafood & Steak is coming to the community of Brownfield. The owner of the Lonestar Cajun Seafood & Steak, Lily Pheng, says the restaurant is fully staffed and can’t wait to serve the community of Brownfield. Pheng also said, “ We feel that Brownfield needs another good restaurant. We feel that we are confident to provide all the good food to the community here.” Lonestar Cajun Seafood and Steak is set to open on Friday, July 1.

Funeral service for Ronnie Hendon, 70, of Welch will be held Saturday, June 25, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at First Methodist Church with Pastor Kendall Meek officiating and Randy Hanes assisting. Interment will follow to Dawson County Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of Branon Funeral Home. Randa Graves Powell passed from this life June 22, 2022. Funeral services will be held Friday, June 24, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at the Eldorado Cemetery Chapel. Interment will follow in Eldorado Cemetery. She was born December 12, 1963 in Brownfield, TX to Billy Bob Graves & Peggy Howell. She graduated from Brownfield High School. Randa moved to Eldorado to be with her brother and father in 1984 and she quickly made many friends.
