Clemmie Jack Cobb

Clemmie Jack Cobb, age 82, of Plains, Texas, passed away Sunday, June 26, 2022, in Frisco, Texas. He was born July 1, 1939, in Brownfield, Texas, to Louise (Mobley) and Paul Cobb. Jack married the love of his life, Mary Janelle Parks, in Plains, Texas on July 7, 1962, and they were blessed with three daughters. Jack was a 1957 graduate of Plains High School and obtained his bachelor’s degree from Howard Payne University. He later earned a master’s degree from Texas Tech University. Jack taught school in Plains before serving 12 years as principal at Smyer and Sands (Ackerly) High School. He moved his family back to Plains in 1978 where he became a strong contributor to the agriculture industry in Yoakum County and the region as both the owner/operator of an aerial applicator business and as a farmer.

Producers are reminded to certify their spring planted crops with us by July 15th. The Emergency Relief Program (ERP) Phase 1 deadline is less than a month away! Prefilled applications have been mailed to all operators & landlords who filed a crop insurance claim in 2020 & 2021. We advise to check with your insurance agent to make sure the insurance pay units listed on the application are for a qualifying disaster event listed in Part A. Fill in sections 13-15 in part C, and sign/title/date in part E. Return in the completed application to your recording county office listed on the application. If you did not receive an application by mail and believe you are eligible, please contact the office and we'll be happy to check on it for you.
