The Brownfield softball team welcomed Littlefield to its home field on Saturday, March 27 for its first home game and second game in District 3-3A. The Lady Cubs were coming off a 14-0 win over Denver City in their district road opener. The Lady Cubs did not show the same scoring prowess in the opener but continued to show strong pitching and defensive play in their 11-0 win in six innings over Littlefield, after a two-run homer from Ashli Nicole Gutierrez in the sixth with no outs activated the ten run rule.

The Lady Cubs went into the district having won their home opener against Plainview. Brownfield needed only five innings to start off district play with a win following a 14-0 win that invoked the University Interscholastic League ten run rule.
