Nicky Joe Sharp went home to heaven on February 4, 2022, at the age of 77. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, February 10, 2022, at Terry County Memorial Cemetery in Brownfield, Texas. Visitation will be from 4 pm to 6 p.m., Wednesday, February 9, 2022, at Brownfield Funeral Home. Nick was born on September 28, 1944, to Nicholas Clyde and Helen (Brown) Sharp in Burleson, Texas. He received a degree in Automotive Technology from Texas State Technical College (formerly TSTI) and later joined the Army. He married his sweetheart, Joan Flowers on March 15, 1966, in Dalhart. They had nearly 56 years together and raised two wonderful children. Nick retired from the Army after 20 years and was very proud of his service. He enjoyed scuba diving while stationed in Hawaii and also enjoyed woodworking and racquetball in his younger years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Nicholas and Helen; his stepfather, Leonard Foster; and his brothers, Tommy and Roy Lyn Sharp. Nick is survived by his wife, Joan Sharp; his children, Dicky Joe Sharp and Brenda Rodriguez; and his grandchildren, Aron Sharp and Victoria Rodriguez.

He was born in Snyder on February 20, 1934 to Richard Leroy and Zenobia (Faye) Bohannon Barrier, the third of 5 children. He came to Terry County in January of 1944. He was raised in the Pool Community, graduated from Meadow High School in 1951. He played sports and loved farming and ranching. He married his soul mate, Dorotha Howard on June 18, 1954. They had 67 ½ happy years together and raised three wonderful children, Kathy, Terry, and Jolisa. He farmed 9 years at Pool 9 Years at Wellman and they moved to Hereford for 5 Years. He enjoyed watching his children in all athletic events, loved vacations, stock shows and family activities. He was well known for his steer trimming, grooming and helping his children, family, and any 4-H or Ag student interested. He enjoyed raising show steers. He was also a self-taught gunsmith and enjoyed refinishing gun stocks and loading ammunition. He loved baseball, football, hunting, golfing, car racing (that he watched with Kathy) and bowling. He spent many hours watching them both in person and on tv. He also spent several years pursuing his other love of trucks by driving and enjoyed seeing lots of the United States. He was an active Deacon for over 50 years. He loved his church and was very active as a teacher of the youth, especially at Wellman Baptist Church. When he arrives in Heaven he will be greeted by his Savior, his precious daughter, Kathy Barrier, his darling granddaughter, Kristen Kaylene Corbin, his parents, in-laws, sister Marion Bishop, brother Leroy Barrier, and lots of family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Dottie, his son Terry (Brenda) Barrier of Cleburne, daughter Jolisa (Jay) Collinsworth of Andrews, grandchildren, Tiffany (Jeff) Proctor, Jared (Jessica) Barrier, Kali (Greg) Newman, Kendra (Brandon) Scott, Jessica (Chris) Burkhardt, and 8 great grandchildren, his sister, Sandra Lumpkin and brother Jerry, and lots of relatives and friends.

Born at 35 weeks, he weighed 5 pounds 3 ounces and was 19 inches long. He was born to parents Avery Elaine (Whitmore) and Seth Daniel Swaringen. Although Hayes never spent any time with us on earth, he was very loved and touched many lives. He will live in our hearts forever. Hayes is survived by his parents, Avery and Seth Swaringen; his maternal great-grandmother, Mary Whitmore; his maternal grandparents, Vicki and Marcus Whitmore; his paternal grandparents, Marla and Mike Swaringen; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Avery and Seth would like to personally thank the nurses and doctors at Medical City Plano for all of their compassion and support during this very tough time. We will be forever grateful. A private graveside service for the family will be held at Ridgeview West Memorial Park at a later date.

She was born Jan 3, 1940, to Francisco and Reynalda Davila in Hargill, TX where she also met and married the love of her life, her husband of 42 years Manuel Banda. They then moved to Wellman in 1967 from Bledsoe and had three children. Genoveva was a housewife who loved to cook, sew, and play Lateria (Spanish bingo), and also enjoyed family gatherings. She is survived by one daughter Lucy (K.T.) Hughes of Wellman, one son Rudy (Lisa) Banda of Brownfield, three sisters Santos Davila of Hargill, TX, Gloria Castaneda of New Braunfels, and Dolores Garcia of Idaho. Mrs. Banda had 12 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. She and her husband raised two of their granddaughters, Teresa Franco and Amanda Banda Espino. Genoveva is preceded in death by her husband Manuel Banda, daughter Manuela (Nellie) Ortiz, granddaughter Gloria Ortiz, four brothers, four sisters, and many many loved ones. Special thanks to her caregiver, Interim Home Health and Hospice, and granddaughter, Juanita Alavols.

Jerry was born on April 4, 1942, to George and Alvina Littau in Shattuck, Oklahoma. He served our country in the United States Army from February 25, 1960 to February 21, 1963. He was employed by BP as a Communications Consultant. Jerry married the love of his life Geraldine Jane George. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, motorcycles, riding in the Sheriff’s Pose and politics. Jerry is preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine Jane Littau; parents, George and Alvina Littau; brother, Alvin Littau and a baby sister Mary Lee Littau. Jerry is survived by his daughters, Dawn Machelle Adair, Melody Hoglan, Delinda Lampe, Connie Seaton and Jerrie Lipple; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; brother, Irvin Littau and a sister, Kathy McDonald.
