Nicky Joe Sharp went home to heaven on February 4, 2022, at the age of 77. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, February 10, 2022, at Terry County Memorial Cemetery in Brownfield, Texas. Visitation will be from 4 pm to 6 p.m., Wednesday, February 9, 2022, at Brownfield Funeral Home. Nick was born on September 28, 1944, to Nicholas Clyde and Helen (Brown) Sharp in Burleson, Texas. He received a degree in Automotive Technology from Texas State Technical College (formerly TSTI) and later joined the Army. He married his sweetheart, Joan Flowers on March 15, 1966, in Dalhart. They had nearly 56 years together and raised two wonderful children. Nick retired from the Army after 20 years and was very proud of his service. He enjoyed scuba diving while stationed in Hawaii and also enjoyed woodworking and racquetball in his younger years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Nicholas and Helen; his stepfather, Leonard Foster; and his brothers, Tommy and Roy Lyn Sharp. Nick is survived by his wife, Joan Sharp; his children, Dicky Joe Sharp and Brenda Rodriguez; and his grandchildren, Aron Sharp and Victoria Rodriguez.
