Future hoopsters attend Brownfield basketball camp

On Monday, June 7 the Brownfield boys and girls basketball camps began with the little dribblers going from 10 a.m. until noon at Oak Grove Elementary and summer skills work for fourth to ninth graders at Brownfield High. On the first day, there were 31 kids for little dribblers, 14 girls, and 30 boys for the summer skills. Both head coaches Michelle Wyatt and Zayne McPherson spoke on what they hope to accomplish in the three days of summer camp.

CUBS football compete at Tahoka

The Brownfield football varsity and junior varsity teams participated in the 7 on 7 games and the Cubs’ linesmen participated in the linesmen challenge at Tahoka High Monday night. The Cubs varsity team faced Lamesa in game one and Tahoka in game two, winning both games with a 20-8 win over Lamesa and 28-14 over Tahoka. With the JV team winning both games, Brownfield football went undefeated.

Brownfield student named to annual HPU Who’s Who award

Connor Faught of Brownfield was one of 27 students awarded the Who’s Who award by Howard Payne University. The annual award comes out at the end of every spring semester. Howard Payne University presents the award to juniors, seniors, and graduate students for their academic ability, participation, and leadership in academics, extracurricular activities, citizenship, service to the university, and potential for future achievement.
