Read moreTexas Comptroller Glenn Hegar released the June sales tax revenue which totaled $3.16 billion. This was an 18.1 percent increase in sales tax revenues from last year and an increase of 10.4 percent from two years ago. The June sales tax is based on sales made in May and remitted to the agency in June. Hegar credits the pandemic from last year for the decrease in sales tax.

Yet this meeting had a surprise visit with Ropesville Mayor Brenda Rabel and Jacob and Martin engineer Allen Phillips spoke to the council about buying water from the city.

The meeting was pushed back a day to accommodate the need for the court to hold a budget workshop, but before going into the workshop the commissioners dealt with the June monthly reports and made a decision to move the Monday, October 12 meeting.
