The Alzheimer’s Association annual Alzheimer’s Disease Facts and Figures Report is out for 2022 and shows more Americans living with Alzheimer’s; an estimated 6.5 million nationally, including over 400,000 in Texas. That number is expected to increase to 490,000 by 2025. Additionally, over one million Texans provided 1,769,000,000 hours of unpaid Alzheimer’s care, valued at $25,874,000,000.

District - Wide Safety Project Under Way

Work on a $3.5 million Texas Department of Hale County—US 70, SH 194, FM 54, FM 789, Transportation (TxDOT) project to restripe FM 37, FM 788, FM 2284, FM 1424, FM 37 various roadways in the Lubbock District is under way. Contractor Centerline Technologies, LLC, from Victo- ria, TX, began work yesterday along US 62, from the Ralls city limits to the Floyd County. Weather permitting, work will continue on US 62 in Crosby County this week before heading to Terry County.

Three local stars get a shot at the next level

Fantastic day in Brownfield,Texas on Wednesday, March 23. Three local girls basketball stars get the chance to shine at the next stage as Tia Johnson and Deja Johnson signed to play basketball with Lubbock Christian University in Lubbock Texas. Dabria Blackwell will be continuing her athletic and academic career with South Plains College. All three girls will be staying close to home as they start their new athletic.
