Read moreThe coronavirus continues to wreak havoc on the nation. In Texas it has begun to cause issues that most people would not have ever expected. On Sunday, March 15 the Texas Education Commissioner Mike Morath told a group of legislators and public school officials that, “likely looking at large numbers of kids possibly missing the rest of the school year.” Also according to the Houston Chronicle, Morath added “it’s marginally optimistic to believe already-shuttered schools in areas with an outbreak will re-open within the next eight weeks.” If that is the case, that would bring those school districts being shut down until the middle of May, or two to three weeks before the original date for summer break.

Read moreOn Tuesday morning at approximately 6:50 a.m. a truck accident was called in. The accident occurred about 3 miles south of Brownfield on US 62/385 near Birdsong Peanuts. According to DPS, on wet roads the truck was heading south in the right lane and lost control. The truck began to “fish tale” and slid to the left, turned on its side while going through the median. The truck came to a rest in the right lane and shoulder of the northbound lanes. The driver of the truck was transported to BRMC with unknown injuries.
