Approximately 5:30 PM Thursday

March 12th Brownfield Fire & Rescue was called out to an accident seven mile north of Brownfield on US 62/82. According to the driver of the Dodge mini-van, Joseph Daley of Lubbock, was passing a Ford F-250 dually pulling a trailer, in the left lane of the north bound lanes. Daley said, “As I was passing him, I went a little bit into the median, then over corrected to the right and hit the truck on the back end.” The Ford and trailer both spun together and ended up facing south as did the Dodge. “I felt the hit and wasn’t sure what happened, but was able to keep from flipping.” said the driver of the Ford, Matthew Srevel of New Mexico. According to officials on scene there were no injuries reported.

Lady Cubs win district opener

The Brownfield Lady Cubs started their district play in softball against the Shallowater Fillies on Tuesday night in high fashion by leaving northwest Lubbock County 1-0 in district play.

District honors aren’t given out until the last team in that district is done in the playoffs. With that being said, all three Terry County schools, boys and girls teams of Brownfield, Meadow and Wellman-Union High School had some of the toughest districts in the state in their respective classes.

Terry County Commissioners Court met in their first meeting of the month on Monday, March, 9. After the regular items of business the Court discussed and accepted the monthly reports from the Ag Extension, County Sheriff, and Justice of the Peace.

At approximately 10:00 am

At approximately 10:00 am on Tuesday morning first responders were called to a 10-50 on US 62/385 in front on scene owner have fallen asleep, crashed into a Brownfield Rehab transport van, which then collided with another vehicle. No injuries were reported. The driver of the Lincoln was issued a citation.
