Lady Cubs softball improves to 2-0 in district

The Brownfield softball team welcomed Littlefield to its home field on Saturday, March 27 for its first home game and second game in District 3-3A. The Lady Cubs were coming off a 14-0 win over Denver City in their district road opener. The Lady Cubs did not show the same scoring prowess in the opener but continued to show strong pitching and defensive play in their 11-0 win in six innings over Littlefield, after a two-run homer from Ashli Nicole Gutierrez in the sixth with no outs activated the ten run rule.

Brownfield track and field team prepare for district meet

The Brownfield track and field team competed at the Dimmitt meet on Friday, March 26, the last meet before the district meet in Denver City tomorrow(Thursday). Head coach Taheric Brantley is excited for what his team can do in district as they are peaking at the right time.

Superintendent Smith looks to the future for Brownfield basketball

In 2019 when Brownfield passed the bond to build a new high school and gym, Superintendent Chris Smith said this would be a great way to help not only the students but the community of Brownfield. And he intends to honor that as he has begun the process of organizing a basketball tournament to be played in the new school arena, which should bring in other schools and fans to Brownfield where they will stay in local hotels, eat at local restaurants, and shop at local venues. This was his plan from the moment they got the bond and began construction.
