Lady Cubs 14u softball takes Midnight Madness Championship

If you didn’t stay up late to see the 14U travel team in action Saturday, July 16 you missed out. The 14U softball team decided that losing wasn’t something that they really cared to do. The 14U Lady Cubs softball team ended up going 4-1 in the tournament. The Lady Cubs played the LBK Outkast and won in a landslide 10-2. The team then played Vicious Fastpitch and won the game with ease as well with a score of 10-1. The Lady Cubs would then play Traviesas Softball Squad 3 times and win the series 2-1. The first of three games the Lady Cubs won 4-3. In the second game the Lady cubs took a tough one to the chin and lost 6-5. The third and final game the Lady Cubs rallied to beat Traviesas Softball Squad 13-1. The Lady Cubs 14U team is the Midnight Madness tournament champion.

USDA Accepts More than 3.1 Million Acres in Grassland CRP Signup

COLLEGE STATION – The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) is accepting offers for more than 3.1 million acres from agricultural producers and private landowners through this year’s Conservation Reserve Program (CRP) Grassland Signup, the highest in history. The signup’s results include more than 246,000 acres in Texas. This program allows producers and landowners to continue grazing and haying practices while protecting grasslands and promoting plant and animal biodiversity and conservation, and it’s part of the Biden-Harris administration’s broader effort to address climate change and to conserve natural resources.
