Brownfield Lady Cubs suffer first district loss falling to the Lamesa Golden Tornados 39-26

The Brownfield Lady Cubs returned home and took on the Lamesa Golden Tornados and suffered their first loss of district 39-26. Brownfield came into the game shorthanded as they were without junior guard Rhianna Miranda who was out with a right foot injury. Miranda’s absence was felt early in the game for the Lady Cubs as they were off to a slow start, fortunately so did the Golden Tors. Both teams were finding some good looks just not able to cash in on them. The first point of the game was scored by Lamesa with 5:40 left in the first and they were leading 1-0 after splitting the pair of free throws. Then a minute and some change later Kaylynn Fininen drained a couple free throws to get the scoring started for the Lady Cubs.
