Texas is facing double jeopardy; The state is in a heatwave and a drought, so the Brownfield City Council once again discussed how to handle these issues. The council met on Thursday, July 21. Undoubtedly, Brownfield and surrounding areas are in a dry spell and combining that with high temperatures, the city is under Stage 1 mild water shortage conditions. The City wants to reduce the daily water demand by 10 percent. Council members say they are not overly worried about the water issue...yet.
