There’s a new cop on the streets -- or in the halls.
Zachary Nettle was introduced at a recent meeting of the Brownfield school board as the district’s newest school resource officer (SRO) and has already begun his duties.
Nettles, 22, told the Brownfield News he’s excited about his new job, his first as a peace officer.
“I knew a long time ago that I wanted to be in law enforcement and also that I wanted to work with schools,” he said. “This isn’t usually a first job for police officers, but it’s always been something I wanted to pursue.”
