Funeral services for Mercedes Quiñones de Manriquez were held at 2 pm Tuesday, October 1, 2019, at St. Anthony Catholic Church with Father Jose Kochuparambil officiating. Burial followed in the Terry County Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Brownfield Funeral Home. There was a visitation Monday, September 30, 2019, at Brownfield Funeral Home from 5:00 to 6:30 pm with a rosary following at 6:30 pm. Mercedes went to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 28, 2019. She was born in Chihuahua, Mexico to Antonio Quiñones and Felicitas Molina Quiñones on November 16, 1925. She married Jose Antonio Manriquez on January 24, 1954, in Nuevo Casas Grandes, Chihuahua, Mexico. Mercedes is preceded in death by her husband; her parents; 2 brothers; and a sister. She is survived by four daughters, Luz Maria Manriquez of California, Elia (Garry) Gryder of Brownfield, Etelvina Lozano of Clovis, Emma Lozano of Amarillo; one son, Jose Efren Manriquez of Amarillo; 14 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 5 great great-grandchildren.
