Junior Refugio “Chino” Zepeda, 72 of Brownfield, was born on May 2, 1947 in Mexico to Domingo and M. Trinidad Garcia Zepeda Estrada. He moved to Brownfield in 1975 and married Nicholiza Martinez Rodriguez on June 12, 1993. He died on September 26 in Brownfield. Mr. Zepeda worked in agriculture as a seasonal contract laborer and as a cotton ginner for several years. His hobbies were taking his wife dancing and going out to eat with his family. He also like to spend time outdoors cooking for his family. Mr. Zepeda was a long-time member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Brownfield. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother and one sister. Mr. Zepeda is survived by his wife - Nicholiza, one son - Joe Villegas of Lubbock and two daughters - Christy Villegas and Mary Villegas, both of Brownfield. He is also survived by one sister - Guadalupe Zepeda of Uriao, Mexico and seven grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Services for Mr. Zepeda were held on Tuesday, October 1 at St. Anthony Catholic Church with the Father Jose Kochuparambil officiating and Johnny Vasquez singing. Visitation was held on Sunday,September 29 from 1 -9 p.m. and Monday, September 30 from 9 a.m. - 9 p.m. at the Head Duarte Funeral Home Chapel in Levelland. A rosary was held on both Sunday and Monday at 7 p.m., also at the Head Duarte Funeral Home Chapel. Interment was at Terry County Cemetery under the direction of Head Duarte Funeral Home.
