Making the All-District first team were Carson Sessums as spread back and safety and Tony Loewen as linebacker. In the second team was Nathaniel Rodriguez as quarterback, Austin Ferriera as utility back, Christian Rios as center and Rylan Garcia as spread center.

Read moreThe Brownfield girls’ basketball team was on the road visiting Monterey on Tuesday night. The Lady Cubs opened the game with a quick start leading 19-9 at the end of the first quarter. Brownfield struggled on the defensive end in the second quarter allowing Monterey to score 17 points and cut the lead to 35-26 at halftime. Brownfield continued to struggle on the defensive end in the third quarter losing 18-15 and having its nine-point lead cut to six. The Lady Cubs found their rhythm in the final quarter on both ends as they scored 22 points and held the home team to a low seven points to secure their sixth straight win.
