Recently, the FCC awarded the company Resound “just a little over $310 million to build out internet.” The award was a part of rural digital opportunity fund(RDOF). The company representatives explained the goal is to get broadband internet to individuals who live outside of city limits, in more rural areas. Judge Wagner then asked, “have y’all polled Wellman to how many people might need?” Resound said that they did not have an exact number but that Wellman was part of the 850 they had identified as being underserved, “and so we believe most there to be underserved today.”
