We will be Closed for the Holidays

With Christmas falling on Friday this year, many businesses are taking a little extra time off. Most everyone, including United Supermarket will be closed on Christmas Day.United Pharmacy will close at 3 p.m. Thursday and closed Friday with regular business hours on Saturday. LifeCare Pharmacy will close at 1p.m. Thursday and close on Friday and open Saturday. Brown- field Family Physicians will be closing at noon on Thursday and be closed all day Friday and Saturday. Nelson Pharmacy will be closing at 2 p.m. Thursday and closed Friday and Saturday. Clinic Pharmacy will be closing at noon Thurs- day and close Friday and Saturday. Prosperity Bank will close at 1 p.m. on Thursday and be closed on Friday. Lone Star State Bank will be closing at noon on Thursday and closed Friday. Sundown State Bank will be closing at noon on Thursday and will be closed Friday. Brownfield Federal Credit Union will be closing at noon on Thursday and will be closed Friday. Terry County Courthouse will be closing at noon December 23 and will be closed Thursday and Friday. Brownfield City Hall will be closed on Thursday and Friday. All Federal offices will be closed on Christmas Day. The Brownfield News will be closed Thursday and Friday. The News will reopen Monday with regular hours. For any other business, please contact that individual business for their hours.

Hilario “Larry” Jimenez

Funeral Services for Hilario “Larry” Jimenez, 52, of Brownfield will be held at 2pm on Monday, December 28, 2020 at Brownfield First Baptist Church with Ricardo Morin officiating. Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 27, 2020 from 6-8 p.m. at Brownfield Funeral Home Chapel. Larry was born on November 20, 1968 in Laramie, Colorado to Hilario F. and Maria Jimenez. He was a Pastor at Iglesia Bautista Galilea in Ropesville for 5 years. He served as vice president of South Plains Baptist Association and Director of Men on the South Plains Companerismo. Larry married Anita Jimenez in Brownfield on December 27, 2004. He is preceded in death by his mother, Maria Jimenez; 2 sisters, Irma Jimenez Jones and Elisa Jimenez and grandfather, Hilario F. Jimenez, Jr.Larry is survived by his wife Anita Jimenez of Brownfield; children, Misty Deeann Morin of Brownfield, Angelica and husband Johnny Rodriguez of Sundown, Paula and husband Robert Salazar of Brownfield, Dolores Acevedo of Brownfield, Anna Jimenez of Brownfield, Christina Morin of Brownfield, Samantha and husband Zach of Wellman, Gavin Lee Martinez of Brownfield and Justin Sanchez of Brownfield; 15 grandchildren; father, Hilario F. Jimenez and siblings, Melissa Jimenez, Monica and husband Juan Garcia, Miguel Jimenez, Ernesto and wife Julia Jimenez and Gilbert Jimenez.

Eddie Frank Foshee

Eddie Frank Foshee passed away on December 19, 2020 in Lubbock. He was born on June 12, 1937 in Knox City, Texas to Burton (Red) and Ruth Foshee. Eddie married Sharon Kennedy in Brownfield on March 21, 1959. Eddie was a farmer. He was a founder and partner at Ten-Hi Gin and a proud Navy veteran. He was most proud of his family and loved each one. Eddie is preceded in death by his parents, Burton and Ruth Foshee; two brothers, Garland (Gus) Foshee, Joseph (Joe) Foshee; three brothers in-law, Bill Evans, Weldon Kennedy, and Garry Kennedy. Eddie is survived by wife, Sharon Kennedy Foshee; daughters, Renee Foshee and husband Stan Trull, Amy F. Holmes and husband Ron, Trina F. Morgan and husband Dr. Davis Morgan; sister, Karen Evans; sister in-law, Linda Foshee; grandchildren, Angela Richardson and husband Jason, Nathan Davison, Kinzie Mallott and husband Ben, Josh Randolph, Chris Hunt, Clayton Jay Randolph and wife Whitnie, Capt Shawn Hunt and wife Lara, Hailey Ketchersid and husband Landon, Trent Morgan; greatgrandchildren, Tristyn Richardson and wife Kristen, Taylor, Tucker, Breanne, Avery, Mason, Jack, Harper, Knox, Phoenix Blue, Spencer, Lincoln, Sunnie, Kate, Cora, Kal, Quinn, Tillie and Cotton.

Ofelia Garza

Ofelia went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on December 17, 2020 due to complications of COVID-19. Ofelia was a devoted member of St. Anthony Catholic church. She was a very loving and happy person. She was ready to go anytime she was invited somewhere. Ofelia loved to crochet and sew, she made quilts with love for all of her grandchildren. She loved her family and was always happy to attend all of her grand-children and greatgrandchildren’s events. She loved to travel to see her family as often as she could. Ofelia (Nana) will be greatly missed. Graveside service for Ofelia Garza, 91, of Brownfield will be held at 2 pm on Wednesday, December 23, 2020, at Terry County Memorial Cemetery with Monsignor Gerald Leatham officiating. Visitation will be held from 1pm-8pm with a Rosary to begin at 6pm on Tuesday, December 22, 2020, at Brownfield Funeral Home Chapel. Ofelia was born on May 19, 1929, to Eufracio and Paula Huerta in Charco, Texas. She was a teacher’s aide, custodian, and cafeteria employee for Brownfield ISD for 33 years. Ofelia married Agapito Perez Garza on November 11, 1966, in Brownfield. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, parents, and a brother, Jose Cavazos. Ofelia is survived by her daughters, Delma Lira (Louis Lira) of Brownfield and Dellia Munoz (Esteban Munoz) of Lubbock, niece Maryann Perez (Luis Perez) of Alice, 9 grandchildren Louis Lira II, JJ Garza (Veronica Garza), Jacob Lira, Cristal Perez, Maritza Lira, Tina Munoz, Stephanie Munoz, Lorena Munoz, and Linda Munoz; 9 great-grandchildren; 5 sisters, Delfina Morin, Beatrice Juarez, Betty Vera, Julie Hernandez, and Margarita Huerta and 2 brothers, Erasmo Huerta and Pedro Cavazos. Pallbearers: Guadalupe Morin, Jr., Joe Morin, Albert Morin, Louis Lira II, JJ Garza, Jacob Lira Honorary Pallbearers: Jordan Garza and Acetyn Salas
