Cubs Tennis makes history with playoff run and awards

The Brownfield Cubs tennis team made history in their program when they earned a 4A district championship, and earned the district’s top seed in Class 4A playoffs all as a 3A school. For the second year in a row, the Cubs played in the Class 4A playoffs. Last year the team won a bi-district championship. Yet this year the Cubs made a deep playoff run winning the bi-district championship over Sweetwater and area championship over Clint before falling in the regional quarterfinals to Big Spring. The run was the furthest the Cubs have gone in Class 4A as a 3A school, and for the team it was an exciting run that they did not believe was going to happen.
