Lady Cubs split a pair before the break

The Brownfield Lady Cubs played 2 games before getting to enjoy the rest of the Thanksgiving break. On Monday they played Lubbock Christian High School who’s ranked #2 in the state of Texas for TAPPS and coming off their second State Championship in as many years, Brownfield fell to Lubbock Christian 46-35. On Tuesday Brownfield returned to action as they took on the 4A Monahans Lady Loboes who they defeated 59-30 and that win would secure the first of the season for the Brownfield Lady Cubs. Coach Wyatts bunch has had some early struggles through four games with almost an entirely new team, but they have also gone against stiff competition early. Opening the season against #12 Levelland, #7 Farwell, and most recently #2 LCHS and Monahans.

Runnin’ Cubs improve to 2-1 on the year

The Brownfield Runnin’ Cubs also played two games in two days before the break. On Monday they took on the Lubbock Christian Eagles suffered a loss 52-36 and on Tuesday they took on the Snyder Tigers and defeated them 54-47.

Farmers Can Now Make 2023 Crop Year Elections, Enroll in Agriculture Risk Coverage and Price Loss Coverage Programs

Agricultural producers can now change election and enroll in the Agriculture Risk Coverage (ARC) and Price Loss Coverage programs for the 2023 crop year, two key safety net programs offered by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA). Signup began Monday, and producers have until March 15, 2023, to enroll in these two programs. Additionally, USDA’s Farm Service Agency (FSA) has started issuing payments totaling more than $255 million to producers with 2021 crops that have triggered payments through ARC or PLC.
