Lois J. Harvell November 3, 1928 - December 23, 2022 Lois J. Harvell, age 94, loving mother of nine, adoring granny and great granny, went peacefully to be with the Lord in the late hours of December 23, 2022. Lois was born November 3, 1928 in Snyder, Texas to parents Lee Hardin and Velma Hardin Wilson. Lois lived a life surrounded by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who she thought the world of. Early in life, she ran a successful business with her grocery store in Brownfield, Texas. Being the loving mother that she was, she also had a profound love for sewing that began as a teenager and continued throughout her life. Lois enjoyed sewing in many aspects, including knitting, quilting, and crocheting for any and all that she could. She also had a love for traveling, which she did every chance she could. Lois loved to share stories and being the witty person she was she always had a comeback. You also can’t forget the sharp memory Lois had recalling just about anything and everything one could want or need to know about life in general.

She will be greatly missed by her friends and family, which include her 7 daughters: Shirley Gutierrez and husband Steve of Seagraves, Texas, Kara Richolson and husband Lance of Brownfield, Texas, Cathy Freeman and husband Lyn of Bangor, Maine, Regena Isbell and husband Michael of Post, Texas, Kay Whitley of Alpine, Texas, Carolyn Hillis and husband Don of Granbury, Texas, & Lynda Brown and husband Carl of Andrews, Texas and 2 sons: David Hale and wife Cruz of Canyon Lake, Texas, and Russell Hale and wife Vanessa of Abilene, Texas as well as the many grandchildren and great-grandchildren who adored her with all of their hearts.

Lois is survived by her seven daughters, two sons, nine granddaughters, seven grandsons, one late grandson, and 21 great-grandchildren. She has two brothers, Lawrence Wilson and his wife Flo of Brownfield, Texas, and Lloyd Wilson of Cross Plains, Texas, and one sister, the late LaQuita Cargill of Brownfield, Texas.

Memorial Service for Lois will be held at 2 pm on Friday, December 30, 2022, at Brownfield Funeral Home.

The family would like to thank a special part of the family, The Gutierrez’s, for being Lois’ caregivers throughout the last several years of her life. It was because of this family that Lois was able to live the life she did.
