A Celebration of Life for Gary Louis James, 61, of Eunice, NM was held on Tuesday, May 21 at 2pm at Calvary Funeral Home Chapel with Dennis Durfee officiating. Gary passed away Friday, May 17 at 2:20 p.m. in Eunice with family surrounding him. He was born January 22, 1958 in Lubbock, TX to Marvin and Ruth James. He graduated from Wellman High School in 1976 and then began farming in Terry County.
He married Debra Rolen on February 7, 1980 at Ashmore Baptist Church in Loop, TX. The family moved to Eunice, NM in 1996. Gary is preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Ruth James; and sister, Pamela James. Gary is survived by his wife, Debra James of Eunice, NM; children: Lance James and wife Amber of Greenwood; Jason James and wife Amanda of Denver City; Grandchildren: Alexis and Brooklynn James of Sea-graves; Braylee James of Hamilton; Gavyn Freeman of Austin; Madison Castro and Case Adams of Greenwood; Elizabeth and Garrett James of Denver City; siblings: Cyndi James of Truth or Consequences; Vicki Ashbrook and husband Charles of Tahoka; Ron James and wife Jane of Levelland; Nancy Burris and husband Terry of Wellman; and Jeanne Brown and husband Johnny Mac of Wellman; and hosts of nieces and nephews.
