Anna Rita Wilgus Crudup

December 3, 1925 - January 8, 2019

Mrs. Anna Rita Crudup, 93 years of age, passed away on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 in Brownfield. Rita was born to E.W. and Anna Santa Spicuzza Wilgus on December 3, 1925. She attended Brownfield Schools in her younger years. She married Thomas Edgar Crudup in Lubbock on August 3, 1943 and from this union, they had one son - Ray. Rita was a homemaker and caregiver to her family. She enjoyed cooking her famous Italian dishes, gardening and feeding the neighborhood cats. She enjoyed spending quality time with her family for special occasions, drinking coffee and eating cake with her closest “Golden Girl” friends and crocheting. She was a die hard fan of the Dallas Cowboys, the San Antonio Spurs and Texas Tech Football. Rita loved her Brownfield Interim Hospice Family for their compassion and loving and caring ways and always being there for her and other families. She was preceded in death by her parents - E.W. and Anna Santa Spicuzza Wilgus and her spouse of 36 years. Thomas Edgar Crudup passed away in 1979. She was also preceded in death by her three sisters - Rosemary Snyder, Elizabeth Harwood, Shirley Ellis, brother - Robert Wilgus. Rita leaves to cherish her memory her son - Ray (Terri) Crudup of Haslet, Texas, Grandchildren - Casey Earle and Jason Crudup, and Great Grandchildren Morgan Crudup and Noah Crudup. Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, January 10 in the Terry County Cemetery with Interim Hospice Chaplain Bob DuPont officiating.
