We mourn the loss but celebrate the life of Mario Galindo Luna, who passed away peacefully on May 8, 2023, in Lubbock, Texas. Born on January 31, 1954, in Sonora, Texas, Mario was the son of Alberto and Dora Luna. Maria Louisa Luna was his loving wife who preceded him in death.

Read moreNancy Reeves McGowan, a truly gentle soul, entered the Kingdom of Heaven on April 3, 2023, after battling Alzheimers for Four plus years, spending her last year in a Memory Care Facility, The Cottages At Chapel Creek in Frisco Texas, to whom the entire family is grateful. Born July 7, 1945, in Houston Texas to Jack H. Reeves and Ruth Hewitt Reeves, she graduated from Lamar High School in Houston in 1963 and that Fall entered SMU and received her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education in 1967. She then taught 5th grade in Mesquite, Texas during the time her husband attended Law School. In October of 1967 she had her first born son. She patiently waited for her husband to finish the U.S. Army JAGC school and then joined him at Ft. Knox to begin her first of four years as an Army wife. Many life long friends were made at Ft. Knox. Her second son was born there in May of 1972. Two months later she moved to Brownfield after her husband was transferred to Southeast Asia. In August of 1972 she flew with a 4 month old and a 16 month old to Seoul Korea to join her husband. In August of 1974, her husband was released from active duty and they moved to Brownfield, Texas where her husband began his first of 54 years practifcing law with his granddad and father. In october of 1976, her third son was born in Lubbock. In March of 2019, Nancy and her husband moved to the Colony, Texas for their final home. Nancy was predeceased by her mother, father, and sister Judy Hubbel. She is survived by her husband, William J. McGowan II, sons William J. McGowan III (Jay), his three children Tristen Benjamin McGowan, Kaylen Vince McGowan and Liv Eliana McGowan, Christopher Michael McGowan, and his wife, Cristi and their son Oliver Grey McGowan, Blaine Marshall McGowan and his wife Christen McGowan, and their three children Logan Bryce McGowan, Alyssa Marie McGowan and Ella Francis (Frankie) McGowan. Nancy taught for a total of twenty years and there was not one student that she did not love to pieces, especially her TEMSCA kids. A celebration of her life was held at the Waterford Point Family Center on April 22nd. She was a voracious reader until the ravages of Alzheimer’s completely took her mind. The Family requests that only Donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or one’s favorite charity.
