Local businesses aren’t asking for charity, but rather, patronage. Brownfield’s small businesses depend on residents keeping dollars in the community before they head to the big box stores in larger cities or shop online.
During the West Gin fire on Thursday of last week, the Fire Marshall ordered the Brownfield Farmer’s Co-op Station closed and evacuated due to the fact that it was in the direct path of the fire with the strong north wind that was blowing.
Catholic Charities will be offering parenting classes starting on January 7. The classes will be held at the Kendrick Memorial Library from 4 -5 p.m. and they are free. The first class will feature the South Plains Health Department.
