It was recently announced Jim Rudd Transfer Facility will be shutting its doors and moving inmates and staff members to other locations owned and operated by the TDCJ. DPS welcomes new officer to its ranks

The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) in Brownfield had a new officer join its ranks in Charles Blake Milstead, 29. Blake joined the academy in January, graduated on July 30, and began working in Brownfield and Terry County on August 23.

City Council places temporary moratorium on carports

The Brownfield City Council met Thursday morning for their regularly scheduled monthly meeting. Every member of the council was present for the meeting and a few of the department heads were also present. There were no public comments so the board moved on to the items on the agenda.

Early voting begins tomorrow

Early voting for the November 2 Constitutional Amendment election begins tomorrow and runs through October 29 from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. All early voting will be done at the Elections Office at 507-A West Main Street. All registered voters are able to participate in early voting.
