The defending state and district champs the Brownfield Lady Cubs improved to 3-0 in District 3-3A with a 63-18 home win over Muleshoe on Friday, December 31. Gabi Fields led the Lady Cubs with 20 points and Dabria Blackwell added 11 points.

The Wellman Union Lady ‘Cats earned a 35-15 win over Seagraves on Tuesday, December 28. Kenzie Harp led her team with 13 points, Gracen Gore had eight points, and Cameron Resendez added seven points.

Elections Office no longer sending mail applications for voting

Texas Senate Bill 1 will change the way Texans vote from now on. The bill will make voting by mail more difficult. In the past, local election officials  would send a mail ballot application to every voter on file, as a courtesy to give voters the option to vote by mail. However, Senate Bill 1 has changed that. If you want to vote by mail in upcoming Texas elections, you are going to have to do your homework.
