Memorial services for William Ray Bennett, 64, of Brownfield will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, December 31, 2021, at Brownfield Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Carter officiating. There will be a family visitation on Thursday, December 30, 2021, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Brownfield Funeral Home. Ray was born on September 14, 1957 in Lamesa to Guy and Mac Bennett. He graduated from Dawson High School. Ray was a sports fan that loved Texas Tech and the Dallas Cowboys. He never met a stranger. He was a missionary at his nursing home that he loved, helping residents and taking down the flag in the evenings. Ray loved the lord. He is preceded in death by his wife Sharon Bennett, parents Guy and Mac Bennett, grandparents William and Helen Bennett and Bonnell Coulter, and nephew Stephen Crow. He is survived by his three children, Kurt Bennett and wife, Sabre, of Lubbock, Kami Bennett of Big Spring and Korley Bennett of Ft. Worth; two grandsons, Colt and CJ; brother, Roger Bennett and wife, Diane, of Lubbock; sister, Beth Lacy and husband, Kevin, of Lubbock.
