Roy Foster, 87, our beloved “Poppa” left this life on September 7, 2021. His love and kindness will live on through many generations to come. He was a humble, hardworking, and selfless man who focused his entire life upon caring for his many family members. He certainly left this world a much better place than he found it. Roy entered this world on July 26, 1934, in Muleshoe, TX, born to Homer D. and Violet Mae Foster. “Pookie” was the youngest son out of six children. He served in the US Navy and went on to found Foster Brothers Drilling in Brownfield, TX, which was his life’s work. He is survived by his sisters: Jean Freeman, Amarillo and Lynn McDougall, Canyon; Children: Dee (Donna) Foster of Brownfield, Leslie (Jerry) Carroll of Brownfield, Eddy Williford of Bremerton, WA, Edie (Aaron) McFadden of Lubbock. Twelve Grandchildren, 16 Great-grandchildren, 11 Great-great grandchildren; and numerous nephews, nieces and beloved family members. He is preceded in death by son Richard Williford, Wife Nancy (O’Callaghan), Brothers Wayne and Frank D., Sister Mickey Sue Heard, wife Barbara (Autry), and his parents Homer and Violet “Muzz” Foster. A viewing was held at the Brownfield Funeral Home located at 102 W. Tate on Thursday, September 9, 2021, 10 am - 8 pm with a graveside service were held on Friday, September 10, 2021, at 2 pm at the Terry County Memorial Cemetery. The family requests, in lieu of flowers, that donation may be made in Roy’s name to The Cancer Foundation.
