Funeral services for Pete “Tikia” Rodriguez were held at 2pm Friday, October 18, 2019, at St. Anthony-Catholic Church with Msgr. Gerald Leatham officiating. Burial followed in the Brownfield Cemetery under the direction of Brownfield Funeral Home. Visitation was from 5-7pm, Thursday, October 17, 2019 with a Rosary starting at 6pm at Brownfield Funeral Home. Pete was born on November 24, 1948 in Lubbock to Jesus Rodriguez and Manuela Fabila. He was a life-long resident of Brownfield and was affectionately known as “Tikia” by his family and friends. Tikia loved dancing and riding around in his pickup. He was preceded in death by his parents; 3 sisters, Maria Salas, Alicia Reyes, and Anita Talamantez; 2 brothers, Antonio Rodriguez and Gilbert Rodriguez; and 5 nephews, Danny Talamantez, Antonio Reyes, Jr., Jesse Salas, Johnny Sansing, and Roy Rodriguez, who was like a brother to him. Pete is survived by a brother, Jesse Rodriguez and wife, Isabel of Brownfield; 3 sisters, Manuela Moreno of Lubbock, Josie Sansing of Brownfield, and Tomasa Longoria and husband, Eloi of Brownfield; and numerous nieces of nephews.
