Mercedes Dunlap passed away on October 4, 2020 in Brownfield. Service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, October 9, 2020 at Brownfield Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Brownfield Cemetery. There will be a family visitation held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, October 8, 2020 at Brownfield Funeral Home. Mercedes was born in Thrall, TX on September 24, 1946, to Modesto and Dominga Ramirez. Mercedes Dunlap was a beautiful soul who loved her family very much. She was a loyal servant of Jehovah God and died peacefully in her bed at home surrounded by those who loved her deeply. Mercedes attended the LVN program at Houston Community College in Houston, TX. In 1992 Mercedes and her husband moved to Brownfield, TX. where she worked at Brownfield Regional Medical Center for 10 years. She loved her animal family Jessie and Max. She will be missed tremendously but her love of family will never be extinguished. Mercedes is survived by three sons, Lorenzo Martinez Jr., Randy Martinez and wife Gloria, Rene Martinez and wife Gracie; one daughter, Stella Martinez and spouse Johnny Salinas; two sisters, Olala Ramirez of Brownfield, TX, and Maria Torres of San Antonio, TX; two brothers, Juan Carillo and wife Luisa of Brownfield, TX, and Augustin Ramirez and wife Susie of San Antonio, TX; twelve grandchildren, Stephanie Martinez,and husband Victor Pena, Ramon Salinas Jr. and wife Jasmine, Johnathan Salinas and wife Luz, Kristella Diaz and husband Miguel, Karolyn Salinas and husband Ludwing, Joshua L. Martinez, Jeremy A. Martinez, Ty Garza, Nautica Rios, Beatrice Doege, and husband Dalyn, Andy Martinez, Christopher Martinez; and sixteen great grandchildren. Mercedes is preceded in death by her parents, Modesto and Dominga Ramirez; husband, Johnny Dunlap, two sons David Martinez and Richard Martinez; sister, Dominga Balero.
