Funeral Service for Melba Jean Pruiett, 70, of Brownfield will be at 10 am, Tuesday, August 9, 2022, at Brownfield Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with Rev. Chris Seaton officiating. Burial will follow at Brownfield

Viewing will be from 10 am to 8 pm, Monday, August 8, 2022, at Brownfield Funeral Home.

Melba was born April 25, 1952, to Charles and Mildred (Dixon) Mc Donald. She married Curtis Pruiett in Brownfield on October 12, 1980. With Melba, it was either her way or the highway, but she was always accepting of everyone. Her family knows her as the strongest woman they ever met. She was a hardworking woman who was a waitress (and sometimes a cook) at the Village Grill for 30 years. Melba also enjoyed traveling and loved the mountains.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Billy Ray Allsup and Curtis Pruiett.

Melba is survived by her 3 sons, Charles Kevin Pruiett of Brownfield, Tommy Ray Pruiett of Brownfield, and Joey Lynn Pruiett of Lubbock; her daughter, Tesla Bynum (Chris) of Brownfield; 9 grandchildren and 9 greatgrandchildren.
