Wellman-Union High School’s track teams earned several successful finishes in the recent Loop meet, despite missing several athletes due to conflicting school activities.
For the Lady Cats, Tristan Baker won the 800-meter dash, 400-meter dash and the 200-meter dash while improving her times in each.
Sierra Wheatley and Kelsey Fulford were the only other Lady Cats running, and each improved previous times in at least one of their events. Wheatley finished seventh in both the 400- and the 200-meter runs.
For the Wildcats, Martin Loewen led the way with third-place finishes in the Long Jump, 100- and the 200-meter runs. Robert Steiger was also a medal-winner, finishing second in the 3200-meter run.
The Wildcat and Lady ‘Cat teams will not compete again until after spring break.
