The Meadow Broncos put a win under their hooves Tuesday and their eyes on a trophy.
The Broncos stampeded Southland 69-22 in a quick, low-fouling home win to bring their district record to 6-1. They had a 15-0 advantage the last 10 seconds of the first quarter until the Eagles finally landed a couple of shots, and were still up 36-9 at halftime.
"We played well,” said Head Coach Kyle Johnson. "I thought we played a lot more consistently the second half. The first half we played at (the Eagles’) level instead of our level.”
Fairly-even scoring included Christian Herrera 5-1 0-2 13, Mason Davila 5-0 10, Brandon Flores 4-0 1-1 9, Zach England 3-0 3-4 9, Rafael Urias 1-2 8, Trey Herrera 4-0 8, Alan Estrada 3-0 6, Tyler Harrison 2-0 0-2 4 and Adrian Flores 1-0 2.
