Louis Berl Goldston (1924-2012)
Louis Berl Goldston, 88, of Big Spring, passed away Monday, January 7, 2013 at the Lamun-Lusk-Sanchez Texas State Veterans Home in Big Spring, where he had been a resident since November 2009.
Louis was born March 20, 1924, in Roby, Texas to William Melvin and Alva Rena (Ridgway) Goldston. He later attended schools in Tokio and Brownfield. He joined the United States Navy and served during World War II. He went on to a 30 year career in the Navy and Naval Reserve, retiring to Crane, Indiana. He was a member of VFW Post 9297.
Louis married Lorene Effie Sasser December 3, 1960 in San Diego, California. She preceded him in death February 26, 2005. He was also preceded in death by seven sisters and six brothers.
Survivors include one brother, Oliver Goldston and wife, Wilma of Lake Brownwood and many nieces and nephews.
He will be inurned at the Sasser Family Cemetery in London, Kentucky under the direction of Bowling Funeral Home of London, Kentucky.
