A home-court advantage seems to have made a big appearance in Meadow.
The Broncos won again Friday afternoon in a tournament they’re hosting, placing them in Saturday night’s championship bracket against the winner of an upcoming game against Amherst and Bovina. Tip-off time for the trophy-determining match is set for 7:30 p.m.
The Broncos landed in the third and final round of tourney play with an 83-27 win over Cotton Center Thursday followed by 66-37 victory against Kingdom Preparatory Academy. They scored 16, 21, 14 16 points in each quarter of that most-recent game, while the Warriors had 10, 5, 10 and 12.
Junior Brandon Flores led with 20 points for the Broncos, followed by Christian Herrera with 17.
"We played well - probably the best we’ve played all season,” said Head Coach Kyle Johnson. "We’re back to playing Meadow basketball the way we’re supposed to do.”
The Lady Broncos lost 39-47 to Kingdom Prep Friday afternoon, after suffering another defeat Thursday against Cotton Center. They will play again at 9 a.m. Saturday.
