The Meadow Broncos are rested up and recovered, just in time for some stompin’ playoff action.
The Broncos will wrap their regular season Friday at home against UIL newcomers Lubbock Harmony Science Academy. After their almost-certain victory over the Tigers, the Broncos will be 3-1 in district and runners-up behind Ropes.
The next step will a bi-district match against Borden County, set for 7:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 16 in O’Donnell.
The Broncos (7-2 overall) were off last Friday and spent their bye week recovering from the injuries that significantly contributed to their Ropes loss Oct. 19 and resulting lost chance at a district championship. Head Coach Kent Allison now anticipates having at least a couple key players back on the starting line.
Although 0-9 for the season and scoreless against the Broncos each of the other two years they faced them, the Tigers have improved somewhat and will likely attempt to confuse their opponents offensively.
"They run lots of trick plays,” Allison said. "I think they’ve gotten a little better than they were last year, (but) they’ve still got a long way to go.”
Kick-off time is set for 7:30 p.m. at Bronco Stadium.
