Meadow girls basketball coach Ryan Bobo shows his team an offensive plan. The Lady Broncos opened their season Monday night with a 39-25 win over Sands.
Meadow’s hoopsters started their new season Monday night, and they started it right.
The Lady Broncos earned a 39-25 win over Sands that pumped their confidence levels for the coming weeks ahead and gave them some ideas for ways to keep getting better.
"We had moments of brilliance and several things we can still improve upon,” said Coach Ryan Bobo. "We are young and still learning the game. We will improve every game and hopefully reach our goals.”
The Lady Broncos maintained a steady lead over the Lady Mustangs with quarterly advantages of 12-5, 21-12 and 28-19.
Junior guard Tamara Vela and freshman post Lexy Silva, both gave "standout games,” Bobo said.
Vela scored 12 points and had seven rebounds to go along with eight assists. Silva had 11 points, 16 rebounds and three blocked shots.
The Lady Broncos will be on the road Saturday to face the Valley Lady Patriots, then back home Tuesday for Spur.
