OBITUARY: Linda Sue (Briscoe) Baker

Linda Sue (Briscoe) Baker went to be with the Lord on Tuesday January, 15 2013.  Born in Overton, Texas on September, 5  1937 to Lonnie and Opal Briscoe.  Linda attended school in Brownfield, Texas, where she met and  married her high school  sweetheart Cecil Wayne Baker in 1954. Their love affair lasted for 59 blessed years.

Linda was a long term resident of Ventura, California.  She loved the Lord and was a member of the First Christian Church, Linda was an avid gardener and held all creators great and small close to her heart.  Those left to cherish her memories are her husband Cecil, her two children Rhonda Sue Bennett and husband James of Floresville, Texas.  Son Michael Baker and wife Kristin of Derby, Kansas.  Daughter in law Susan Baker of Oxnard, California, Grandchildren Amy Sandler, and husband Andrew, Kathryn Curtis and husband Mitchell, Lauren Baker and Cody Baker.  Great Grandchildren Tobias and Miranda Sandler.  Two brothers Lonnie Dee Briscoe Jr. and wife Nancy of Brownfield, Texas  and Charles Briscoe and wife Neva of Santa Maria California.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Brother Robert Briscoe and in laws Floyd and Jessie Mae Baker (Parks).  As well as one son Leonard Derrell Baker, and Grandson Ryan Derrell Baker, of Oxnard, California.

Visitation will be held form 4-6 Pm Sunday January 20th at Resthaven Funeral Home 5740 W. 19th Street Lubbock, Texas 79407.  A memorial service will be Monday January 21st at 11am officiated by Dr. Michael Passmore at the First Christian Church Located at 2323 Broadway with a lunch reception to follow.

The family suggests memorials to the American Heart Association, or charity of the givers choice, in lieu of flowers
