Broncos win againJanuary 11, 2013, 11:45 pm
Meadow can scratch another name off their growing list of trampled-over district opponents after Friday night.
The Broncos’ latest victory was 59-44 over New Home. They led the entire game - and in double-digits through most of it - for first and second-quarter advantages of 17-10 and 25-21, respectively. They were ahead nearly 20 points in parts of the second half, and still up 15 when the final buzzer sounded.
Head Coach Kyle Johnson considered the win well-deserved, and was pleased with the efforts of some of the varsity newcomers.
"We played really well at times,” he said. "Our guys coming off the bench gave us our spark.”
Junior Brandon Flores led with 15 points, including four field shots and seven of 10 free throws. Other scorers were Mason Davila 7-0 0-4 14, Christian Herrera 3-2 0-2 12, Brandon Flores 4-0 7-10 Zach England 3-0 0-2 6, Tyler Harrison 2-0 4, Ralph Urias 1-0 2-2 4, Alan Estrada 1-0 1-2 3 and Trey Herrera 0-0 2-4 2.
Now 5-1 in district and 12-7 overall, the Broncos will host Southland on Tuesday.
