Raymond Aubrey Wilson, 90, of Meadow, passed peacefully from this life in his sleep on Monday, April 14, 2014. A family visitation will be held at the Meadow Church of Christ on Wednesday, April 16, 2014 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. A military burial ceremony will precede the memorial service at the Meadow Cemetery at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 17, 2014. The memorial service will follow at the Meadow Church of Christ at 11:00 a.m.

Raymond, born on the Fourth of July, 1923, was the last surviving child of the fifteen born to George and Margie Gibson Wilson. He was reared in the Jayton area where he grew into an avid outdoorsman. On his return from service in Europe with Army Corps of Engineers Europe during World War II, Raymond married Eva John Etter on July 3, 1946. They moved to Meadow in 1953 where he worked for International Harvester dealerships and Hydrotex. He was a member of the Meadow Church of Christ and served on the Meadow Museum Committee.

Mr. Wilson is survived by his wife, Eva John; his children and their spouses: Johnece and Pete Marchbanks of Bryan and Floyd and Linda Wilson of Lubbock; five grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Billie Teeter of Meadow and dear friends, Jim and Teresa Back of Meadow.

Remembrances can be made to The Meadow Museum or New Mexico Children’s Home.
