Holiday depletes blood supply, donors sought
Saturday, January 04, 2014 3:31 PM
Due to the low donor turn-out and depletion of the blood supply during the holidays, United Blood Services is asking for your help to combat blood shortages. The Brownfield United Supermarket is sponsoring a community blood drive 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 11 in the Bloodmobile.
Negative blood types have been especially low, but all types are needed.
To schedule an appointment, contact United Blood Services at (800) 333-6920 or long onto www.bloodhero.com. Walk-ins are always welcome, but appointments are encouraged.
To save time, you may now do the Health History Questionaire online the day of the drive prior to your appointment. For more information, visit https://edhq.unitedbloodservices.org/.
Please take the time out of your busy schedules to give the gift of life by donating blood. Blood is life saving and cannot be duplicated. Find the hero in you.
