As work progresses within the walls of the Alamo Building, the old gym is giving up secrets to its past.
While pulling away old pieces of building materials, workers discovered handwritten names on the walls with dates, and even football positions played.  Brownfield Boys and Girls Club President Sheryl Vaughan said some of the names went back to the 1940’s.
Instead of tossing the panels , Vaughan said they decided to cut up the pieces into smaller placards.  While she isn’t sure what to do with the placards, a discussion has surfaced about trying to find who they belong to and either give them back or get donations to have them displayed.
The current renovations being done to repurpose the building as the new home of the Brownfield Boys and Girls Club.
