Cubs track coach Jesus Villasenor said his athletes had a great showing in Post.

“After the field events, we were winning the meet as a team,” he said. “We just don’t have the number of runners to get all the points we need to stay up there by the end of the day.”

Villasenor praised Sha’Colby Hill’s performance in the area meet and said Korey Nolan will be a strong contender next weekend as well.

“We still have room for improvement so that’s exciting heading into the Regional Meet,” he said. “There’s room for us to get faster so we’ll compete well as we try to get to Austin.”
